The first of these updates is scheduled to be released on February 20, with the studio emphasizing that no single update will be able to resolve all the issues at once. In a message shared on Discord, Arrowhead Game Studios stated, “We have improvements rolling out this week focused on the most serious problems in the game: login, matchmaking, and server load. You will see one update for PC and PS5 tomorrow, though please keep in mind that no single update will solve all the issues. Rather, we will be making continuous improvements over the days and weeks to come. We’re all working hard to make sure that the game is a stable place to spread Managed Democracy to every planet in the galaxy. Thank you, as always.”
The success of Helldivers 2 since its launch has been remarkable, with the game setting a Steam concurrent record of 409,367 players. This achievement has propelled it past the all-time concurrent player counts of games like Grant Theft Auto V, Starfield, Counter-Strike, and Destiny 2. However, this surge in popularity has also brought about the aforementioned issues. To address the server load problem, Arrowhead Game Studios has implemented a limit of around 450,000 concurrent players in order to improve stability. Nevertheless, the studio is committed to resolving all the issues so that players can continue to enjoy the game without interruptions.
