Frontier Developments is set to release the third edition of their F1 Manager video game this summer, offering players the chance to create their own team for the first time. In addition to managing one of the existing 10 real-world Formula 1 teams, players can now use the ‘Create A Team’ mode to have full control over their team, including negotiating sponsorships and scouting young talent. This marks a significant change from last year when developers stated this feature was not in their plans, while EA Sports’ F1 series has had a similar mode since 2020.
The new game will also feature a mentality system that focuses on driver and staff personalities, challenging players to find the right balance for success. Teams can now poach staff or drivers, adding a strategic element to the game. With enhanced AI and new strategic perspectives, players will face a greater challenge in races. The popular Race Replay mode from last year will make a return, allowing players to relive real-world scenarios from the 2024 season and rewrite history virtually.
The release date for F1 Manager 2024 has not been announced yet, but it will be available this summer for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One at a suggested retail price of $34.99.
