Jets have reached agreements with John Simpson and Javon Kinlaw

The New York Jets have signed former Baltimore Ravens guard John Simpson to a two-year contract worth up to $18 million. Simpson, who started every game at left guard for the Ravens in 2023, ranked 24th among guards in pass block win rate and 67th in run block win rate. Despite allowing eight sacks, he played a team-high 1,159 snaps and was penalized 10 times. Simpson joined the Ravens’ practice squad in December 2022 and won the starting job in 2023.

The Jets also reached an agreement with former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw on a one-year deal. Kinlaw, drafted by the 49ers in 2020, had his best season in 2023 after battling injuries in previous years. He appeared in all 17 regular-season games, recording 25 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 12 pressures. Despite a slow start to his career, Kinlaw showed promise in his fourth season.

Both players bring valuable experience and talent to their respective positions, and the Jets hope they can make a significant impact in the upcoming season.
