Hidalgo’s 22 points, along with key baskets down the stretch, helped the Fighting Irish secure their first tournament title in five years. Notre Dame’s Maddy Westbeld added 16 points and seven boards in the victory.
Paige Bueckers led UConn to a win over Marquette in the Big East Tournament semifinals with 27 points and 12 rebounds. UConn faced Marquette with only seven available players after losing Aaliyah Edwards to injury. In another semifinal game, Georgetown defeated Creighton to advance to their first conference championship game, led by Kelsey Ransom’s 14 points.
