Toonami celebrates Akira Toriyama with a Dragon Ball Kai marathon!

Following the recent passing of Akira Toriyama, fans worldwide are paying tribute to the iconic creator of the Dragon Ball series. Toonami, known for airing Dragon Ball and its spin-offs, will honor Toriyama with a marathon of the first eight episodes of Dragon Ball Kai. Dragon Ball Kai is a revamped version of Dragon Ball Z, featuring a condensed storyline, remastered HD visuals, and a new voice cast.

The marathon is set to air on Saturday, March 16, starting at 2 a.m. Eastern Time and running until 6 a.m. For those who haven’t watched Dragon Ball in years, revisiting the series may evoke feelings of nostalgia. Considering the time investment, opting for Dragon Ball Kai could be a more efficient way to relive the series.

In addition to Dragon Ball, Toriyama’s influence extends to the world of video games. He contributed character designs to beloved titles like Chrono Trigger and the Dragon Quest series, as well as lesser-known projects such as Blue Dragon. Despite his passing, Toriyama’s legacy lives on through posthumous projects like the Sand Land RPG and the upcoming Dragon Ball Daima anime.
