Neve Campbell reprises role in ‘Scream 7’ after salary dispute exit

Neve Campbell, known for her role as Sidney Prescott in the “Scream” franchise, is making a comeback in the upcoming seventh installment after sitting out “Scream 6” due to a salary dispute. Campbell expressed her excitement on Instagram, stating that it has always been an honor to portray Sidney in the movies and she is thrilled to reprise her role.

Kevin Williamson, the creator and writer of the “Scream” series, will be taking on the role of director for “Scream 7.” He shared his gratitude and excitement for the opportunity to direct the next chapter in the franchise alongside Campbell.

Guy Busick will be handling the screenwriting duties for the film, while James Vanderbilt will continue to produce. The film collective Radio Silence, who worked on the previous two “Scream” movies, will serve as executive producers.

Campbell’s return comes after Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, who appeared in previous “Scream” films, will not be returning for the seventh movie. Barrera was let go from the project due to controversial social media posts, while Ortega had scheduling conflicts with her Netflix series.

Fans of the franchise can look forward to seeing Sidney Prescott back on the screen in “Scream 7,” directed by Kevin Williamson. Campbell expressed her excitement to work with Williamson and thanked the loyal “Scream” fans for their support.
