What to expect from the 2024 iPad Pro: Rumors you should know before the official announcement

Apple is gearing up to announce its next-generation iPad Pro models in the coming weeks, and customers are eager to see what improvements and changes will be included in these highly anticipated devices. The 2022 iPad Pro saw a minor update with the introduction of the M2 chip, Apple Pencil hover, and upgrades to Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. However, rumors suggest that the upcoming iPad Pro models will bring more significant changes, marking the first major update since 2018.

One of the most talked-about changes is a reduction in thickness, with reports indicating that the new models will be thinner than their predecessors. While CAD renders suggest that there won’t be major design changes beyond this, there are vague reports about a potential landscape front-facing camera placement for better video calls with a Magic Keyboard. Speculation about a glass back for the iPad Pro has also been circulating, although it’s uncertain if this will come to fruition.

The next-generation iPad Pro is expected to feature Apple’s M3 chip, offering improved performance and efficiency compared to the M2. The M3 is based on the A17 Pro chip and boasts enhancements in both single-core and multi-core tasks, as well as a redesigned GPU with hardware-accelerated ray-tracing for enhanced graphics capabilities.

In terms of storage options, rumors suggest that OLED iPad Pro models may offer up to 4TB of storage, a significant increase from the current maximum of 2TB. Pricing for the new models is expected to be higher due to the advanced OLED display technology, with estimates starting at $1,500 for the 11-inch model and $1,800 for the 13-inch model.

The upcoming iPad Pro models are also rumored to feature OLED displays, offering improved power efficiency, color accuracy, and contrast compared to LCD displays. Display sizes may see slight increases, with thinner borders around the screen allowing for a more modern appearance.

Other anticipated updates include improvements to the iPad Pro’s cameras, potential wireless charging capabilities, and a redesigned Magic Keyboard accessory that aims to make the device more laptop-like. Reports also suggest that a new Apple Pencil may be unveiled alongside the new iPad Pro models.

While it was initially speculated that Apple would hold an event to announce the new iPad Pro models, it’s now expected that the company will unveil them through online videos and marketing campaigns on its website. The launch is likely to happen in the next few weeks, with availability expected toward the end of the month or in April. Stay tuned for more updates on the latest iPad Pro models.
