Looking ahead, Berners-Lee remains hopeful for a better future for the web. He emphasizes the need to address power concentration and the exploitation of personal data. By promoting collaboration, diversity, and empathy, he believes that we can steer the web in a positive direction.
One proposed solution is the Solid Protocol, which aims to give individuals control over their personal data through personal online data stores (PODs). By shifting the focus from corporate interests to individual empowerment, the Solid Protocol seeks to reshape the web ecosystem.
While the road to reforming the web may be challenging, Berners-Lee’s vision of a more inclusive and user-centric internet is worth pursuing.
