The Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Racer has us craving a more intense street

Aston Martin has expanded its racing lineup with the introduction of the GT4, a new model developed by the Aston Martin Racing (AMR) division. The Vantage GT4 shares 80 percent of its structural and mechanical architecture with the roadgoing model, making it a formidable addition to the Vantage family.

The GT4 features improvements in cooling and aerodynamics, along with a revised chassis setup. While it may not have the bold appearance of the GT3-spec version, the Vantage GT4 offers a more aggressive aerodynamic package, including a fixed rear wing and a prominent front splitter. These components provide increased downforce and reduced drag compared to the outgoing Vantage GT4. Additionally, a larger radiator aperture and tweaked brake ducts improve engine cooling.

Inside, the GT4 is equipped with a custom roll cage, dual displays, carbon-fiber casing, an array of motorsport switches, and a full racing bucket by Racetech. The AMG-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine has been tweaked to produce 469 hp and 640 Nm of torque, with the option for further adjustments. The eight-speed automatic transmission has been modified to function as a six-speed paddle-shift gearbox, and the chassis upgrades include two-way adjustable KW dampers and a new set of 18-inch forged aluminum wheels.

The Vantage GT4 made its racing debut at the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona last month alongside the Vantage GT3. Aston Martin plans to build more than 40 units during the 2024 season and has already delivered several units to customer teams.
