Brie Larson Opens Up About Her Love of Video Games: “It’s Never Gotten Old for Me” - Hollywood Reporter

Actress Brie Larson shares her enduring passion for video games, stating “It’s never gotten old for me

Brie Larson, the famous actress, has been an avid gamer since her childhood. She recently attended an event in New York City to discuss Nintendo’s latest game, Princess Peach: Showtime! In this game, Princess Peach battles the villainess Grape, who is trying to take over a theater and make every play end tragically. To save the day, Peach must enter each play to change the endings back, transforming into different versions of herself along the way, including a pastry chef, ninja, cowgirl, swordfighter, mermaid, and ice skater.

Larson expressed her excitement about the game, stating, “It’s great to join her in her journey. I’ve just loved her my whole life, so to see her have this stand-alone game and not just that but to have all these different facets and different characters and her own gameplay is just a thrill.” She also shared that she grew up with Nintendo consoles and has fond memories of playing games like The Little Mermaid, the original Super Mario, and Duck Hunt.

The actress emphasized that video games have always been a significant part of her life, connecting her with her sister and providing endless entertainment. Despite not fully understanding how Nintendo mechanisms worked in her childhood, the games sparked her interest and continue to do so to this day. Larson also expressed her admiration for Princess Peach, stating, “It’s just amazing when you have a character that you’ve grown up with your whole life and to be like, ‘Wow, I’m still so into this.'”

Princess Peach: Showtime! is set to be released on March 22.
