He acknowledged that speed isn’t the only measure of a man, but promised to give his best effort. Before the run, Brady confidently stated, “I will give you 100 percent chance of effort.” In the end, he managed to run a 5.18 on one stopwatch and a 5.12 on another, surpassing his old record.
