Seahawks keeping DL Williams and TE Fant for upcoming season

The Seattle Seahawks made some big moves this week, bringing back defensive lineman Leonard Williams and tight end Noah Fant. Williams signed a three-year deal worth $64.5 million, with $48.85 million guaranteed. He expressed his excitement about returning to the team, citing his love for the fans and the city. General manager John Schneider highlighted Williams’ versatility and positive impact on the team’s defense.

The Seahawks cleared cap space by releasing several players, including safeties Jamal Adams and Quandre Diggs, tight end Will Dissly, nose tackle Bryan Mone, and special teams captain Nick Bellore. They also restructured wide receiver Tyler Lockett’s contract, giving them around $50 million in cap space to work with.

Noah Fant’s return is a welcome one, as the team lost two other top tight ends from the previous season. Fant signed a two-year deal worth $21 million, including a $9 million signing bonus. He has been a solid contributor to the offense, with 82 catches for 900 yards and four touchdowns in his two seasons with the Seahawks.

Overall, the Seahawks are making strategic moves to strengthen their roster and remain competitive in the upcoming season. The team’s focus on retaining key players and making smart financial decisions bodes well for their future success on the field.
