USA Basketball is working to finalize the roster of 12 NBA stars who will be representing the country at the Paris Olympics this summer. According to recent discussions, the team is expected to include players such as Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, and Devin Booker, among others. It has been suggested that these players have already begun planning and making public commitments related to their Olympic participation. However, the final roster is yet to be confirmed.

In addition to the aforementioned players, Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton, who were part of the USA’s 2023 World Cup team, are also being considered for the Paris Games. Both players were key contributors to the team’s performance at the World Cup in Manila. The USA team is in need of additional size, and players like Bam Adebayo and Anthony Davis are strong candidates for the roster. The final lineup is expected to be announced during the early rounds of the NBA playoffs, which is anticipated to be in late April or May.

The managing director of USA Basketball, Grant Hill, and coach Steve Kerr are optimistic about the participation of Joel Embiid, who is currently recovering from surgery. Durant, James, and Curry have expressed their commitment to the Paris Olympics, and it is likely that they will be part of the team. Jrue Holiday, known for his defensive prowess and playmaking ability, is also expected to be a significant contributor to the team. The draw to determine the teams that the USA will be playing against in the opening round of the Olympic tournament is scheduled for March 19th.
