The No. 7 jersey retirement ceremony for Blackhawks legend Chris Chelios at the United Center was a star-studded event. The ceremony featured emotional speeches and a special “Shoot the Puck” challenge on the ice during the Blackhawks game against the Detroit Red Wings.
Among the special guests who participated in the challenge were Chelios’ youngest daughter Tara, supermodel Cindy Crawford, former Chicago Cubs president Theo Epstein, and Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder. Crawford, dressed in a white sweater, black leather pants, and black shin-high boots, was the only one to successfully make the shot.
The in-game host praised Crawford’s skills, stating, “She’s the only one who nailed it. Good for her.” Other notable guests at the ceremony included 1990s Chicago Bulls star Dennis Rodman and hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. Although Michael Jordan was expected to attend, he sent a congratulatory video instead.
