New M3 MacBook Air has faster SSD speeds than previous model

Apple’s latest release, the M3 MacBook Air, has brought with it a range of new features and improvements. One significant change is the upgrade in SSD storage speeds, addressing a previous issue with the base model M2 MacBook Air. The base model M2 MacBook Air had slower SSD speeds compared to higher-tier configurations due to the use of a single 256GB storage chip instead of two 128GB chips. However, the new M3 MacBook Air has rectified this by utilizing two 128GB storage chips, allowing for faster data transfer speeds. Testing conducted by Max Tech revealed that the M3 MacBook Air boasts impressive write speeds of 2108 MB/s and read speeds of 2880 MB/s, a significant improvement over the M2 MacBook Air. These enhancements bring the M3 MacBook Air’s SSD speeds on par with, and in some cases surpassing, those of the M1 MacBook Air. The full details of the SSD speed improvements can be found in the videos by Max Tech and Gregory McFadden.
