Three days after the passing of the beloved comedian Richard Lewis at the age of 76, his wife Joyce Lapinsky expressed her gratitude to his fans worldwide. In a heartfelt post on social media, she acknowledged the outpouring of love and tributes, stating that Richard would have been touched by the gestures.
In response to the inquiries from fans, Joyce suggested making donations in Richard’s memory to the Los Angeles based charity Comedy Gives Back or any charity of their choice. Comedy Gives Back aims to support comedians by providing financial crisis relief, mental health and chemical treatment sponsorship, and ongoing community support.
Richard Lewis, known for his iconic roles in shows like “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Anything but Love,” passed away at his home in LA after suffering a heart attack. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease last spring, he had retired from stand-up comedy but left behind a legacy of laughter.
