Trader Joe’s recalling chicken soup dumplings due to potential plastic contamination

We have received your submission and want to inform you about a recent recall of over 61,000 pounds of steamed chicken soup dumplings sold at Trader Joe’s. The recall was initiated due to potential contamination with hard plastic. The dumplings were produced by CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corp. based in California.

Consumers reported finding hard plastic in the Trader Joe’s-branded products, prompting the recall. Fortunately, no illnesses or injuries have been reported so far. The affected product is the 6-ounce “Trader Joe’s Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings” produced on Dec. 7, 2023. Look for lot codes 03.07.25.C1-1 and 03.07.25.C1-2 on the side box labels.

If you have purchased these dumplings, please check your freezer and either dispose of them or return them to any Trader Joe’s store for a full refund. CJ Foods Manufacturing Beaumont Corp. is investigating the issue and has emphasized that customer safety is their top priority.

Foreign object contamination, such as plastic, metal fragments, or bugs, is a common reason for food recalls in the US. It is essential to stay informed about such recalls to protect your health and safety.
