An Oakland County resident was pleasantly surprised to discover she had won a $1 million Powerball prize after checking Facebook. Jennifer Vackaro, from White Lake, matched the five white balls in the March 2 drawing with the numbers 03-18-27-36-53. She purchased her winning ticket at Andale Mexican Grill & Cantina in Commerce Township.
Vackaro explained, “My fiancé and I were at Andale, and he was playing Club Keno, so I decided to play Powerball. Usually I go for easy pick numbers, but since we were just relaxing and having a drink, I took the time to select my own numbers.”
The following day, while browsing through Facebook, Vackaro came across a post about a winning Powerball ticket sold at Andale. The post listed the winning numbers, which she immediately recognized. Excitedly, she scanned her ticket on the Lottery app and was thrilled to see $1 million displayed on the screen with confetti. Overwhelmed with joy, she quickly shared the news with her daughters and fiancé.
“I’ve been in a daze these past few days. I haven’t been able to eat or sleep due to a mix of nerves and excitement,” Vackaro shared.
The 50-year-old winner recently visited Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. She plans to use her winnings to take her family on a vacation and save the rest for the future.
