LaGuardia now top-ranked in North American airport passenger satisfaction survey

LaGuardia Airport in Queens has seen a remarkable transformation, going from the worst airport in North America to one of the best in its class. A recent survey of passengers rated LaGuardia as one of the top two airports in North America serving 25 to 40 million passengers annually, alongside Minneapolis/St Paul International Airport. The airport received an impressive overall satisfaction score of 4.24 out of 5, a significant improvement from its previous rating in 2018 when it was considered the worst airport in North America.

The turnaround at LaGuardia can be attributed to the completion of all new facilities, which were opened to the public last year. Port Authority officials expressed their delight at the airport’s improved reputation, with Executive Director Rick Cotton stating that the transformation of LaGuardia from worst to best is now official. The survey, conducted by the Airports International Council and involving around 4,200 passengers, evaluated various aspects of the airport experience such as cleanliness, staff courtesy, security, and amenities.

Last year was a busy one for Port Authority’s airports, with approximately 144 million travelers passing through LaGuardia, Newark Liberty International, and John F. Kennedy International airports. The positive feedback from passengers in the recent survey reflects the successful efforts to enhance the airport experience at LaGuardia.
