Jeff Bezos has surpassed Elon Musk as the wealthiest billionaire, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index. Bezos’ net worth is estimated at $200.3 billion, while Musk’s is $197.7 billion. This change is attributed to Tesla’s stock performance, which saw a 7% drop on Monday and a 27% decline since the beginning of 2024. Bezos last held the top spot in 2021, while Musk’s last time at No.1 was over nine months ago. Amazon’s stock price has increased over 17% since the start of 2024, contributing to Bezos’ fortune. With a small gap between their net worths, their positions on the list could easily change depending on stock performance. Musk has previously competed with LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault for the top spot. On Monday, there was less than a $1 billion difference between Musk and Arnault’s fortunes.
